My Last Action Feeling

Benshi is back! And this time we’re warping the 90’s Arnold film Last Action Hero into MY LAST ACTION FEELING.
In Japan, Benshi performers memorize Western movies and then reinterpret the story for an Eastern audience. Director Lindsay Burleson and company mix things up by turning the kitschy action flick Last Action Hero into something completely different. This version has all the blood, guts, and comedy of the original with a few more feelings and a pint sized therapist. Oh, and a completely different story arch. To make things even more interesting, Burleson and video editor Austin Havican are trying something new and adding outside material from Japanese commercials Arnold Schwarzenegger did around the time the film was released.

“Just like real life, bullets, tears, and feeeeeelings are all our heroes need…and maybe a really good therapist,” says Burleson.

Assisting Burleson will be a cast of voices including anime voice genius Andrew Love, Benshi second timer and AMAZING PERSON Matt Benton, and BooTown’s Co-Artistic Director Emily Hynds. Houston musician Joe Mathlete will write and perform an original score for the performance.
