Things this week…and BEYOND.
First of all, Grown-up Storytime turns 70 this Tuesday the 16th. There is an 8pm and a 10pm showing and they both cost only $5, both at Rudyards. Bring your friends/co-workers/grandparents! Everyone loves tots. If you are coming to the 8pm show just make sure you get there early to get a seat, we will shut the doors at 8:05 and there will be absolutely no late seating allowed, no matter who is up there waiting for you. Even if it is the pope. Ok, maybe if it’s the pope.
Secondly, Projectorphiles opens this Sunday. We are trying new things with this one and doing a very short run so make sure you come see before they are gone! Projectorphiles consists of three short shadow puppet pieces by BooTown’s own Lindsay Burleson, Emily Hynds, and Larkin Elliott. Normally we combine brain power and paper cutting skillz to make one big show but this time we are each in charge of one small one. It should be interesting to see what our individual styles look like all on their own. Each show will have original live music like always, and for our Rudz shows we will have some cool bands play after us! Tuesday the 23rd will be Mikey and the Drags and Wednesday the 24th will be Kose. More info here.
AND THIRDLY, we have been nominated for a Sammy award (for best non profit) by the Free Press Houston with lots of other cool people and organizations. You can vote for us (and everyone else too) right here. There is also a badass awards show on Thursday the 25th that you should probably get your tickets for asap.
